01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
If you fancy something sweet with your tea after visiting the shrine, Seiryoden Hall’s tea lounge offers its signature Heso Fuku Mochi. This mochi confection is filled with smooth red bean paste, and it is offered in sets with sencha, matcha or coffee. Choose tea for a traditional pairing, or coffee to suit your mood.
Some visitors have enjoyed Heso Fuku Mochi with sencha, while others recommend the set with matcha. One visitor who stopped by on another occasion paid 600 yen for a set of warabi mochi and sencha (the price at the time of the visit). Some seats look out onto the garden, and the lounge is also said to have a suikinkutsu water feature. It is a place to take tea amid the views and sounds of water when visiting Omiya Hachimangu Shrine.
